Showcase
Guide
Attendance at these rehearsals is mandatory for participation in the showcase. Any students who miss this week of classes will not be allowed to perform in the show.
A parent or guardian should accompany all students under age 10 to assist with costume changes, make-up, etc. Parents are welcome to accompany older students if desired, but space will be limited.
All parents who choose to stay during their student's class will remain in the dressing room/waiting area, no lobby space will be available. Please note that siblings and extra guests are not permitted to help preserve space for all our dancers.
All students should have every part of their outfit exactly as they would for the showcase, including accessories, shoes, tights, and undergarments.
Please be sure that no bra straps or other undergarments are visible under costumes. Tights serve as underwear under costumes.
No nail polish is permitted except nude nail polish or subtle white French tips; this applies to toenail polish for classes that go barefoot in their dances. No jewelry is permitted -- this means no earrings. If your child has recently pierced ears, please wear clear spacers in place of earrings.
All shoes, tights, and costumes should have your child’s name written in them.
Students with back-to-back class times will be released during the last 10 minutes of their class to prepare for the next hour's classes and photos.

Attendance at these rehearsals is mandatory! We will not wait for students who are late when their class is called to the stage. Dancers who miss their rehearsal time with their class will not be permitted to dance in the show.
Parents must check their children in and out with our JPA staff in the lobby. Dancers should enter through the main auditorium doors. This is a closed-door rehearsal, only students and JPA staff will be permitted inside the auditorium. Due to Seminole County School Policies, any adults (and students age 18+) who want to enter the building during these rehearsals must check in at the front desk of Lyman High School and obtain a visitor's badge, a valid ID must be presented at the time of check-in.
Dancers with more than one class rehearsal can stay in the auditorium and wait until their next rehearsal or a parent/guardian may check them out with our JPA staff in the lobby and check them back in when they return for their later rehearsal(s). Please note that students under age of 16 must be checked in/out by a parent or guardian and will not be permitted to leave the school during rehearsals without a parent or guardian present.
Please help us respect our rental space by not bringing any food or drinks into the auditorium. Dancers may bring water in a bottle that closes securely and does not leak, with water only. Any meals or beverage other than water must be consumed in the lobby or courtyard and may not be brought in to the auditorium.

Oversized button-down shirts, bathrobes, and zip-up jackets make great cover-ups! It is best to wear something that doesn't have to be pulled over the head. Please check with your student's teacher if you have more than one costume to find out which dance is first in the show.
All dancers Level I-IV should bring their costumes covered in a garment bag and change once they are backstage.
This is a closed-door rehearsal; no parent or relative will be allowed to sit in the auditorium and watch. Please pick up your student promptly at the end of their rehearsal by checking them out at the cast entrance. No student may be picked up before the entire rehearsal is complete.
Parents must walk kids up and check them in at the table. When you arrive, you must sign your child in at the designated area. Parents will receive a tag that corresponds with their child's check-in number. For the safety of our students, no child will be released to any member of their family without this tag. Please return the tag back to the check-in/out table at the end of the show/dress rehearsal
Please note: If someone other than the parent/guardian on file must pick up your child you must submit a signed note stating who will pick up your child in advance of the show. ID and prior notice will be required for anyone other than the parent/guardian to pick up their child.
